Brother is Back on Bike

I take some small pleasure knowing that during my forced break from motorcycling that at least my Brother is back on his motorcycle. He’s still a bit nervous which is to be expected, but the new engine is working well.  I understand what he’s going through. It always takes a while to trust the bike again after you have a problem with it. This is especially true when it leaves you on the side of the freeway for hours.

I remember the struggle of regaining the trust in my motorcycle most clearly after the stator problem I had a few years ago. It too me a few weeks before I wasn’t worried every time I tried to start the bike that it wouldn’t work. It’s funny how we don’t trust the motorcycle, and it’s completely illogical. The motorcycle wasn’t deceiving us, it was broken and once fixed it should be fine, but mechanical things are not always completely understood by their users and that unknown leaves us wondering.

So I have my brother checking his oil regularly, not only is it a good habit it will also help him regain trust in his motorcycle.

And hopefully I’ll be back on a motorcycle soon…

This lovely picture from just over two years ago. Seems like forever.

I need to get this guy out and on the roads with me!

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.
