Best and Worst

This would be one of my favorite weeks to ride to work…

If it wasn’t so damn cold.

The week between Christmas and New Years is one that a lot of people get off from work, which is great for those of us who still have to commute. Less traffic is great, in fact it is most likely the best week for traffic all year long. It’s too bad this happens when the average temperature in the morning is near 40 and the low 50’s on my way home.

That is about as cold as I can stand.

Riding with numbing and eventually painful fingertips and toes is enough to take the joy out of the lack of traffic.

It isn’t however enough to take the joy out of riding a motorcycle.

I hope you all have a great New Year!

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.

I would love those temperatures right about now – it’s 15F here and that’s without the wind chill. Still, even when it’s 40F here, Gore-Tex and heated grips are the way I cope. But a cold day on the bike is better than a warm day in the office!

Happy new year and ride safe!
