Every Year I Celebrate This Day

Winter Solstice.

I always celebrate it in my own little way. Not in any spiritual sense, but just in the general thank goodness the days are getting longer again. Who doesn’t like sunlight, more sunlight is great.

Now if we could just get it to rain only at night.

It is hard to believe this was nearly six months ago.

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.

  1. Funny how that wholeg days getting longer thing resonates with motorcyclists, that and daylight savings time are marked very prevalently on my calendar. Good call on the whole rain thing too!

Ha ha ha! I almost made a post exactly like this! I look forward to Dec 21 every year….it’s the first glimmer of hope that longer and warmer days really are on the way. That is something to celebrate!

The one good thing about getting up to go to work as early as I do is that I almost always get to ride home with the sun up. Of course I almost always go to work in the dark…
