Google Self Driving Cars (Rant)

Dear Google,

I must be riding home at the wrong time. Twice this week (and it’s only Wednesday as I write this) I’ve come across the Google self driving SUV thing. Both times it’s been in the number two lane (second from the left) on a four lane freeway, and has been going slower than the flow of traffic and over all slowing traffic. So many people are being held up by it that some are forced to pass on the right. This happening once was annoying but twice in three days is too much especially since this has happened to me before.

Now I’m pretty excited in general about the whole self driving car. Living in the US with some of the worst public transit I am hoping to have one myself when I’m old and can’t safely drive myself to get groceries etc. I’m also more willing to trust a computer and sensors than trust most of the car drivers  from changing lanes or violating my right away. However, for them to work with freeway traffic they need to be smarter about not going slow in the number two lane on a four lane highway.

Move to the right buddy!

Move to the right buddy!

TL:DR- Wtf google. Fix your cars to know “keep right except to pass”

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.
