Working on going even faster on the Motorcycle

One of the reasons I ride a motorcycle is the Power to weight ratio is insane.
For example my motorcycle (with me on it) has about 0.10 Horsepower per pound, While my Mini Cooper has about 0.05. Half as much and my Mini Cooper is a bit more zippy than your average Honda Civic with a 0.04 hp/lb ratio.

Removing weight from a vehicle is a tried and proven way to go faster, with this in mind I’m working harder at this in the next few months by cutting 15-30 pounds off my bike… kinda…

Off of me really.

One of the biggest downsides of having a giant plate of steel and ten screws in your Tibia is the fact that it hurts to run. (Hell it hurts to walks sometimes) This makes it a bit harder to get exercise, which for me made me gain a lot more weight than I would like in the last few years. Now no one I know would say that I’m “fat” or that I look that bad, (well not to my face) but the truth of the matter is that most of the US is overweight so I look good… in comparison. A few weeks ago I realized that I needed to do something about this, so I downloaded an app and started paying attention to what I was eating, as well as trying to get out and do more. Now I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m five pounds closer to my goal… which means I’m five pounds faster.

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.

Good on you for trying to be fitter…have you tried swimming/water aerobics? Sounds like you need to find a low-impact cardio workout. Wishing you the best of luck with it!
