Aerostich Roadcrafter

So my Aerostitch is just over 18 months old now. According to the wife it doesn’t stink… but smells of the “road” which I guess is dead bug, dirt and oil? I might have to wash it. Yes I haven’t yet, but it’s a jacket, and if I wash it I have to make sure I make steps to make sure it keeps it’s waterproofyness. (yes I know that is not a word)

The reason I’m thinking about all this, is because another zipper broke. Well zipper pull. Zipper still works, just hard to get a hold of. I put in a paper clip but that’s not going to work for long. However, Aerostitch knows their suits last a while, so they sell replacement zippers and give instructions on how to replace them. So I ordered a pack of replacement zippers for $16 and I’ll let you know how it goes. (I’ve since learned you should call them, often they’ll send the broken zipper replacement for free)

It’s lasted for 24k+ miles and one crash with only 2 zipper pulls breaking, I guess it’s a win =)

Note for me: 13k miles on Ducati Monster and 11k (17k on odo) miles on the BMW F800S

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.
